Except in a justified emergency, a pleasure yacht arriving from abroad may berth only at a Tunisian port served by Customs. The official pleasure-port list covers Tabarka, Bizerte, Sidi Bou Said, La Goulette-Nord, Kélibia, Yasmine Hammamet, Port El Kantaoui, Monastir, Mahdia and Djerba Houmt Souk.

Complete the pleasure manifest
The entry declaration records yacht particulars, owner or user, route and every crew member or passenger. A pleasure manifest also records provisions, alcohol, tobacco, weapons and electronic equipment aboard.
Obtain the permit of free circulation
After entry formalities, Customs endorses the permit of free circulation. Keep the declaration and permit aboard; while valid they allow use of Tunisian waters and visits to other Tunisian ports without repeating Customs entry.
Observe temporary-import limits
A foreign pleasure yacht owned or used by a person principally resident outside Tunisia may receive temporary admission. The published use period is 180 days in any 365-day period, with an immobilisation procedure available when the yacht is laid up.
Private use only
A foreign yacht under temporary admission must remain for the personal use of the owner or authorised user. Local hire, lending, sale or other profit-making use is restricted unless separately authorised.
Complete outward Customs clearance
Before sailing abroad, present identity documents, passenger and crew lists, the stores list and the permit of free circulation to the Customs office at the departure port and obtain the exit declaration.
